THIS LAMP IS MADE FROM A FRENCH BOTTLE MARKED ALCOHOL DEMENTH , A FRENCH MEDICINAL ALCOHOL AND MINT , USED FOR UP SET STOMACH . THE CAP IS BAKELITE  NOT PLASTIC , THE LAMP IS FROM A JUNGLE WORK SHOP THAT MADE MOST OF THE TUNNEL LAMPS, TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHERS , THEY LOOK TO BE MADE BY THE SAME PERSON

rare one of a kind nva helmet ?

found this helmet on ebay in around 2000 , this is a very unusual helmet , the man I got this from has had this since the 80's . I wanted it because its so odd , its made out of a very light product , not sure what it is, and the interior is very unusual, I have not seen any like it in the years I have been collecting . maybe for parades or dignitaries or ??

helmet is plastic, has original label as found on this type of helmet from the early in the war , the rubber membrane cover is original as is the camouflage netting , with some remnants of camo still tied to the netting . the hat has one tear in the rubber cover and one bullet hole in the brim of the hat , this is an original  piece bought from the  personal collection of john O'Connor of Indochina militaria .com

very very rare early vc/nva helmet 

a very early piece , in very used condition , hand painted on brass vc beer can with a very unusual glow in the dark wood piece on the back .kaki color , on early one that is hard to find

the piece of wood stills glows in the dark, not sure what jungle funk they used to get this thing to glow.  I was surprised to see this used by the vc that early in the war .in the 69 Us military book  of vc nva captured  field  gear for mac v, it describes vc helmets with a attached piece of wood with a  glow in the dark  painted with the vc unit number . this is the only one I have ever found with the tag,

a.k. chest rig original as captured with original mags, ammo, oilier, cleaning kit, cleaning rag, nva tourniquet  , and almost never seen north Vietnamese bandage , not Chinese . rig still has that smell . rare to get one this original with all the items still with the rig

several captured flashlights , the two chrome onesare Chinese with the markings stating made in china, one has the 555 logo so often seen on lighters used by the vc/nva in south Vietnam . the two black ones were given to me by a friend , he was with the 101st in 1970 during the invasion of Cambodia

I have not seen any others of this type of light being used in Vietnam , my friend said there were crates of these , no maker name, make a neat tunnel lamp, he gave me three  of these, I gave one to my friend john Conner , if you have one of these contact me , as for now these are the only three that I know exist 

a very unusual vc helmet , net has been sewn with hundreds of parachute cloth pieces , the helmet is plastic with a parachute cord for a chin strap. some one went to a lot of work to make this cover

this is the best way to tell a war time helmet from al the repos on the market , I was show this my Matthew slier ( mr nva) look at the suspension material and the material that holds it to the helmet , the pink color is correct for a war time helmet .

plastic chicom type canteen , very rare , these are hard to find , they look just like the metal ones , not sure if they are chicom made or nva made.

outstanding captured  vc helmet 

purchased from the rogers collection orginaly . this is a very hard helmet to find, very fragle , the woven bamboo is coverd with a thin ground sheet type of material with a very well made net for camofluage the bamboo in the interior  is covered with felt , this item has a name on the front

captured early nva helmet with documentation , 23rd of November 1966 , operation prairie fire, in quan tri province . helmet has the early start insignia ,note the plastic chin strap that according to experts was not in use on war time helmets.

captured on a sweep by the 187 airborne RCT at lz English along with a unit of Korean white horse division from the area of ne bin ding province and the base  of anh khe spring , in 1970. included letter from vet when I purchased this knife

this is a captured jungle made machete found used by the vc and nva units , pictured in homer bretts book , made by the north Vietnamese and Chinese .

outstanding vc made vest using a captured south Vietnamese flag . 

this was given to me by a good friend who received this from the vet who brought it back. my friend collected Vietnam in the late 70's early 80's . the vet said he could not believe his eyes when this guy was coming at him ..

all items came from this ruck, captured by Thomas m groll, captured around duc pho in July 1967, while he as assigned to the 327th infantry , 101st airborne. mr Groll was wounded during his tour and went home only to recover and complete the special forces training and went back to Vietnam to work with Mac v sog in cross border missions . items came from Jason hardy at the dogtag.com

this is a rare item , looks to be a nva copy of a jap ww2 hat, this is the only one i have every found or seen . looks like a nva issue hat with tails added . its kaki in color

unique  gas mask, very simple , looks like a shower cap modified with a plastic mouth piece and gauze for a filter and a plastic drain , very similer to the one in emmerings book

most rare nva uniform I have is this camouflage set of pants and shirts . vet bring back from 1972. 

I believe they call this dac cong. ( special forces) there is only one know color picture of this camo that I know of , life magazine 1972 taken in Laos of a dead nva solider wearing this same camo .

a very original Viet cong black top, heavy weight, and a pair of knee length  kaki pants , 

very rare often never seen north Vietnam magazine .

I have used these for research over the years and every time I found one I purchased it, they were like life magazine for Vietnam. they are dated from 1963 to 1977. the late ones have great pictures of war torn Vietnam and show the damage of war in north and south. outstanding pictures  I will be selling these one at a time soon .

a very sad grouping 

I purchased this from matt siler , I have added a few things to the group that I felt belonged with this . the  war dog pictured was kia during this raid on an airbase . I have looked up the dogs that were kia at air bases and only one was kia, his name was king, the pictures show the nva that tried to get on to the base and there demise . the scorpion is original , the receiver was cut diagonally to make it legal and bonded back together for display . the group comes with the scorpion , the holster, the pictures of the kia , king and the nva , a war dog collar and us dog coat dated 67.

a very rare and cool poster and captured beheading sword with letter from a member of the 5th group that brought it back, original item. have never seen another poster , sword looks like the one in the poster and the letter states it was captured and was used by the vc for beheading villagers

her is the same poster only bigger at market , this is in a national geographic , this is a rare poster , the stamps give it documentation and there is a letter with it hand written from the green beret that brought it back .

my collection of captured original nc.nva cooking eating rice bowls and utensils . all of these came from vets that brought them home, some of the spoons are jungle made , the green metal ones are issue , the pan with the long handle looks to be from a mess kit???, the other alum pan is hand made , the porcelain bowls and plates are a mixture of north and Chinese makes

this is the only bowl I have with markings like this, the vet I got it from took it off a dead vc , it was attached to the vc's ruck with the pipe cleaner , it is filthy , look at the previous picture it still have the stains and a fly in it , never been washed since captured .

my collection of original captured booby traps , all were bring backs , the Venus fly trap came with a letter from the marine that brought it back,  the foot spikes , the punji stakes, and one I don't know how it was used , has row of nails with wood handle .

one of the best captured belts i have ever seen, this one was decorated by the vet that captured it with cao bang  and the date may 2 ,1968 a great belt for display 

very rare not often seen huge ho chi mien trail rice tube, 100% original ! this one is north Vietnam made , extremely well made , lined, with ties to close the ends and straps to attached it to the bike or other means of transportation , only one I have ever found like this .

a update on this rice tube, a person contacted me on this piece , he says the markings are japanese not vietnamese . item came from vietnam and must have been left by the japanese after there ocupation of vietnam during ww2 

my collection of captured rice tubes, all were bring backs, what you see took me years to find , not eaby stuff . the black and the tan ones were found in a vc bunker in the ashaw valley , they came right from the vet that had them for ever and decided to let them go .the reed green one looks to be made out of the same material that the nva uniforms made out of and the blue one was taken off of a vc after he was captured .

this vc hammock is one of my favorite pieces of captured field gear, the vet that found it out side of plekiu on the side of a hiway near of trail, it has never been unwrapped , its just as it was found in 1966 ,

it was carried like a back pack over the shoulders 

vc /nva cold weather vest , part of a vets bring back, I got several great items from this vet, I got a call from him that he wanted to sell the items he brought back , I went to his home , he was in the hospital and we talked on the phone ,I bought all the items and we were going to get together in a week when he got out of the hospital , when I call his home to set up a meet , his wife told me he had died . 

this vc/nva hammock was one of the other items that the vet had , it was in this pouch and carried on a belt, I will show more of this vets items later , I never could figure out what the pouch was originally for , or was it made for carrying the hammock?? could have been for rice and bowl maybe

a most outstanding complete captured magazine ak chest rig, this is exactly as captured and brought back , the mags have a thin material cloth to water proof the mags , like a rain coat material, all three mags were wrapped in this material, there is a ground sheet, oil bottle, parachute cord, and rubber inner tube strap , not sure what that was for ,, to small for sandal repair this is a chi com made rig

a very nice field made or local Taylor shop made boonie , most don't have the plastic sweat band , this makes me think its a Taylor shop  made item.

this single sandal was picked up in si gon the day after tet 68, the vet I got this from said there were sandals laying everywhere, he could not find two alike so he just took this one .

I was contacted by two collectors on this holster, its Russian , or soviet block country, The holster is for a PM -63, I will be adding a picture of the weapon captured. it was stated that these were used by the Dac Cong , nva special forces . this weapon was used by all soviet block countries , not sure origin of this but it looks Russian.

this was a gift from a very special USMC veteran who I have great respect for , his name is Aubie Camp , you can google him and read about this heroic actions in this war , he is a real hero , and a nice person , this is a viet cong jungle made  steel punji  in concrete that he personally brought back and donated to this collection, thank you Mr. Camp

a very odd and super neat item from Jason Hardy at the dog tag , special forces used cannon 8mm movie camera , the hole in the case is from an attack on the base . the mortor round came home as you see it in the case, it was from the attack, and is inert , 

I was told that the vets wife is looking for the movies of the attack that her Husband took with this camera when they they were attacked . there is more info on  this great piece and I will update this as soon as I receive it 

one of my best things ever

a friend of mine had this come into his shop , it had my name all over it . its a jungle made rifle , not a shot gun ! it chambers a 7.62 x 39 round, i put one in with just a primer and it fired the primer . 

this is to me an outstanding find, the words on the stock are not translated yet, soon, close up of the jungle work shop action, hard to beat this as a vietnam bring back 

100% original vc flag from 1962, advisor period , brought back by a navy vet that was there to set up the Junk Force , this is from his estate , bought from the son, 100% silk flag , it does not get any better than this .

I purchased this from the vet that brought it back, he told me he was hunting  near the DMZ , tiger hunting with some buddys , they found some tigers one had a radio , as he put it , I have not been able to contact Al any longer , I know he had cancer , he could barely type last we talked , he was writing the about the radios capture and his time in nam, I only have the first few letters, they stopped and I have been unable to make contact with him .

radio has all the accessories and lights up with power, this can be used as a base radio or a back pack radio, top picture show all set ups , bottom picture is with the pad attached and straps for back pack carry  and head phones with push button mike . also are the antenna and shoulder pouch for accessories .

a great original pair of vc / nva sandals , some ways of telling original is the straps are worn off the bottom , not sticking thru like they were just made and the top edges are a good sign, they are ground off to a smooth edge for comfort , 

super rare,  khaki nva shirt 

original nva made uniform correct in everyway , this is a hard one to find being khaki color, shirt shows used and has some soiling , this was a museum piece and is marked with museum numbers , a really great find .

this is a great set , very very salty, seams are torn in some places, very unusual color , the vc  field dyed there uniforms with colors they could find, this one is very faded , was on display in a museum and has museum numbers

documented Viet cong knife 

this knife was part of a collection that was sold recently , just a great original knife with the vets information, name , and were captured , 

unissued second issue nva knife 

this knife is almost mint, it looks unissued , has original sheath with repaired brass  prong to hole the strap in the locked position . the first issue knife has two rivets , the ones I see now have nails holding the wood on, these are being rehandled by the yards today and sold as original . 

F/51st LRRP captured viet cong knife 

found this on eaby , there is a web site for the F/51st , I had never heard of them , its worth a look to read about this rare unit , they were only in theater for 438 days . the knife is out of site cool, looks to be made from a file , sheath is hand made and original to the knife .

this came out of Laos recently , I have one that is a huey target model to train the Viet Cong to shoot at a moving helicopter , I have not ever seen one of twin rotor type as this one is .

this is a special forces bring back out of Cambodia , yes , I was asked not to use the vets name who brought this back, the letter has all the documentation with names, places , times . knives were made out of everything it seems  SPOOKY
